Hybrid Design
Built with a mesh bottom for quick drainage and a molded tooth zipper. This hybrid design is less expensive, easier to access on the river, and weighs less than fully waterproof options.
They suggest keeping water, sunscreen, and a Pack-A-Pump in the bow bag because they do not need to stay dry. A small lightweight dry bag takes care of the rest, and it's far easier to keep wet stuff wet and dry stuff dry.
The other advantage of a pass-through bag (learned from technical canyoneering with Imlay Canyon Gear) is the outside bag will take all the abrasion, while the waterproof layer remains protected.
Universal Boat Fit
Perimeter daisy chain allows for a universal fit with many different brands of boats, including Alpacka, Kokopelli, and NRS.
(4) included 1/2" webbing straps are designed to be girth hitched to either the boat or the bow bag daisy chain.
The small profile is durable and minimizes entanglement hazards. Each strap can be trimmed to length and then edge sealed with a lighter.
Multiple Use
Designed to fit on almost any backpack with side compression straps and buckles.
The side compression straps slide through the daisy chain on the bow bag for a clean and simple connection.
Can also be worn as a day pack with the optional minimalist backpack straps(adds 1.3 oz). Sold separately.
Paddle Pocket (Optional)
The paddle pocket is a feature unique to Sockdolager bow bags. This creates an additional pocket on the outside of the bow bag that can carry a paddle while attached to your backpack.
This is especially convenient if your expedition backpack doesn't have side pockets or you need additional capacity.
