The Chillwave from Mountain Hardwear is an economically minded big-mountain parka. The cost is reduced through the use of 650 fill power down, but it is still very warm because of it's fully baffled construction (nothing sewn-through here), and as an over- or belay-style parka, it is excellent without being too bulky. The Chillwave is reinforced along the sleeves and shoulders, and has a detachable hood. Length is long enough to cover the butt, however it is not so long that it is cumbersome to move in. Handwarmer and chest pockets, with an inner pocket alrge enough for a Nalgene 1L waterbottle. The Chillwave uses Mountain Hardwear's proprietary AirShield Core fabric for keeping the down fill dry, while still allowing body vapor to pass through. Average weight is 2lbs 5oz.
