Atomic Beta Race

Atomic's high end racing ski, the Beta Race Skate takes a lesson from down hill skis with a slightly hour glass shape [49/44/48mm (tip/waist/tail)]. Atomic's Beta construction gives this ski stiff torsional (side to side) rigidity to prevent the ski from twisting during the kick phase yet is relatively soft tip to tail increasing glide. The relatively wide tip is relatively wide for a skate ski but increases the skis ability to float in softer condition, keeps more ski on the ground for faster and longer glide yet is lively lively due to the Beta construction.
