EVOlution of La Sportiva's flagship boot, the Nepal Extreme has happened. The Nepal EVO has better technical terrain climbing performance with more warmth in the cold. The use of high insulating Gore-Tex®/Duratherm® boosts the warmth and makes the EVO completely waterproof and breathable. The ankle features La Sportiva's innovative 3D Flex system hinge which allows multidirectional ankle articulation and is combined with an elastic anatomical snow protector in the back and a small integrated elastic gaiter to keep the snow out sans gaiter. This even helps keep the water out when wading an Alaskan River on approach or tundra bog. Now built around an American last that is snug fitting in the heel counter yet is comfortable in the forefoot. As always, the insulating Ibi-Thermo footbed gives the boot exceptional insulation from the cold underneath the foot. A new tapered HP3 midsole and shock absorbing PU insert in the area under the heel and the ball of the foot, along with a La Sportiva exclusive sole that has IBS (Impact Brake System) technology developed in collaboration with Vibram® designed to soften impact on hard ground improves comfort on those long approaches. Get the idea, well there is more. The removable tongue is incorporated with a ventilation system giving the option of adjusting the fit to personalize the fit for any foot. The EZ OUT pull loop facilitates the unlocking of the lace lock.

Shop Talk: Love the Nepal Extreme, then you will absolutely fall head over heels for the Nepal EVO. This boot has been booting around Alaska for 6 months and it is without question the leader of the pack in single boots. The reduction in weight is very noticeable on the feet bootin it on approach and on the steep. The 3D ankle frees up the ankle flat footing on moderate alpine terrain and when it gets steep and twisted. The upper has better insulating properties with the addition of GoreTex Duratherm. This boot is smokin, in fact we had to install a fire extingisher in our boot department just for this boot.
