Our
lightest axe. We use this tool for unroped climbing when we will not have to
rely on its stregth for belaying. Tool for training, non technical mountaineering
or any situation when the axe is needed for stability and potential self arrest.
The head is of aluminum alloy and is not as strong as most. In the past we have
seen these light weight axes bend and break but in almost 2 years we have not
seen one Nepal Light pick break or bend. Shaft meets UIAA standards for strength.
