Like
the Koflach Arctis Expe, this boot uses two densities of plastic in the shell
to increase ankle flexibility for technical climbing and ease of foot strain
for walking. Our take is it does not walk as well as the Expe. Unlike the Expe,
larger climbers will not be able to flex the sole when using a semi rigid crampon
and may find it to climb technical terrain better. (See The Right Boot for more.)
In our experience no boot
is more durable. Alveolite high altitude liners sold seperately. Used with an
overboot we suggest either front strap crampons or choose Forty Below or Mountain
Hardwear Overboots. |
