This
boot is made with two different types of plastic for the shell. The upper brighter
yellow is much softer allowing the boot to walk better than any other plastic
mountaineering boot. The 200+ pounders who have used this boot even find the
soles to flex while walking. Bigger climbers may find this boot better mixed
with a rigid crampon for vertical climbing.
Certainly the boot of choice
for routes like the West Buttress on Denali and general mountaineering, many
of us have chosen this boot for technical routes as well. We even used this
boot on the North Ridge of K2. Not as durable as most other plastic boot, but
well worth it. |
